Leading Edge is a choreography performed by two soloists, Marielle Rijkaart (cello) and Besim
Hoti (dance). The audience experiences Johann Sebastian Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 with an
extreme combination of street and modern dance.
There is a vibrant connection between the cellist and the dancer, but how are they able to communicate? This performance is a testament to the notion that music connects us in ways words cannot. The
magnificent music and modern dance come together in a tender dialogue. Although every step and
note has been written down the dialogue seems like an improvised conversation without words.
